Welcome to the web site of the Colorado Crime
Analysts Association
The Colorado Crime Analysis Association (CCAA), started in 1982 as a non-profit organization of law enforcement personnel
and those who work in crime analysis. The CCAA provides a forum for the exchange of ideas pertaining to crime analysis and the sharing of crime analysis information. An essential function is
the continuous liaison between the CCAA and concerned agencies in the interest of crime analysis.
Activities of the Association include sharing of crime analysis information, establishing crime analysis standards and goals, and providing instruction on crime analysis theory and practice. This
inter-agency activity proves to be extremely beneficial in terms of suspect identification and other case-related information, not to mention the formation of positive relationships between agencies.
A different member hosts the meeting each month. Examples of previous training topics have included Link Analysis, Criminal Profiling, Basics and Fundamentals of Crime Analysis, High
Intensity Drug Task Force, and the Rocky Mountain Information Network.
Since it's inception, CCAA has grown in numbers, which includes Analysts, Planners, Managers, and sworn law enforcement personnel from various local, state and federal law enforcement
agencies and privately-owned companies.
